Half-empty canisters are dead weight. This moves the gas from one canister into another, so you consolidate what's left into a single canister and leave the empties in town.

Every trip ends the same way. Three canisters rattling in the pannier and not one of them is full. None empty enough to bin, none full enough to trust for a two day push. So you carry all three.

Three threaded ports and one valve. Donor canister on IN, receiver on OUT, crack the valve and gas flows. The folding wire handle gives you enough leverage to work it with cold hands and gloves on. IN and OUT are stamped into the body, so you are not guessing at a camp table in the dark.

It also bleeds residual gas out of a canister you want to dispose of properly. Puncturing an empty is a lot safer when it is actually empty.

Straight talk. Camp canisters were never designed to be refilled. Transfer works on temperature, so chill the receiving canister and keep the donor warm. Weigh the receiver and stop before you pass its stamped full weight. Do it outside, away from any flame. If that sounds like more process than you want on a Tuesday, this is not your tool.
