ZOLEO
ZOLEO is the satellite communicator riding the Trans Canada Adventure Trail with me on TCAT 2026. Two ZL1500 units with active service plans, on the trail since September 2026.
Most of the TCAT has no cell signal. Not one bar, none. ZOLEO pairs to your phone over Bluetooth and moves your normal texts, emails and check-ins onto the Iridium satellite network when the signal drops, then hands back to cell or wifi when it returns. Same app, same thread, no gaps.
The part that matters when things go wrong is the SOS. Two-way SOS with 24/7 monitoring, so the people coming for you know what happened and where you are. Check-in tells home you made camp. Xweather gives a forecast for the spot you are standing in. 150 g, IP68 and over 200 hours of battery, so it stays on and reachable for a full week between charges.
Buying through the link below sends a small commission our way at no extra cost to you. That keeps the GPX data coming.
