About

We're riders, just like you. Based in Nelson, BC. Smack dab in the middle of the West Kootenays. Adventure is right outside the door, and we roll out as often as we can.

I Think We Missed a Turn was born from a simple desire: better information about riding this region, and how to plan your own local adventures. We build and share the routes, gear, and know-how we wish we'd had when we started.

Mission Statement

We're riders, just like you. We roll out as often as we can. Fortunately for us, we're based in Nelson BC, smack dab in the middle of the West Koots. For us, adventure is right outside the door. We're lucky and trust me, we know it!

The Kootenays are home to some of the best riding ANYWHERE. Riders are always looking for the next best experience and this region delivers. There are some of the most picturesque and twisty paved rides. Or if dirt and gravel is more your thing, there are spectacular routes and mountains to explore.

Overview

IThinkWeMissedATurn.com started out as RideTheKootenays! Both are tourism portals for all types of motorcycle travellers. The site has a collection of routes, paved, gravel and trails. There are also links to all sorts of destinations, and places to sleep, eat, drink and shop.

Meet Craig

Meet Craig

I'm Craig, adventure rider, route creator, guide, and educator.

For more than a decade I've been exploring the backroads, mountains and wilderness of British Columbia and Western Canada on two wheels. I build GPX routes for riders who want more than pavement, routes that lead to epic views, remote campsites, and unforgettable adventures.

Every route I share is one I've ridden, tested, and refined. My goal is simple: help you ride with confidence and experience the best this region has to offer.

Craig's routes are top-notch. You can tell he rides every single one of them. They're accurate, detailed, and lead to places you'd never find on your own.
