Heading up Six Mile Lake and down Lemon Creek is a classic dual-sport ride. The typical loop is just up, down and back on the highway through the Slocan Valley. But…..there’s options!!

So, here’s how the map works. The massive route is broken up into smaller tracks based on the type of riding surface and difficulty. And colour-coded for your convenience! 

D-0 Green is paved
D-1 Blue is smooth unpaved
D-2 Red is Rough Unpaved
D-3 Purple is Spicy, Either more technical or has something on it that may be trickier for some rider/bike combinations.

I’m never going to make assumptions about your skill level or enthusiasm, you know you. Always ride to what you’re comfortable with. 

There are waypoints for Camping, fuel, beer, motels, motorcycle shops, food, and cool places to see!!

Heading out of Nelson and up the North Shore is a rather scenic bit of pavement. Then hook a left up Six Mile Lakes Rd and up into the mountains. A great cruise up, past a few Rec Sites you soon enough reach Lemon Creek Rd. You can go left there and down to the highway. Or……….

Options!!!

If you take a right, you can hook around past Crusader Cabin and down along Springer Creek. Still takes you down to the Slocan Valley, but spits you out right near Slocan City. This track gets the RED treatment only because it’s slightly more technical in a few spots. Can you easily ride it on your bike? Most likely. Can you do it on a big bike loaded with camping gear? Maybe, but more challenging for sure…

More Options!!!

Once you make it down to the Slocan Valley, riders short on time commonly just rip the highway back. But if you have more day left, you can extend the loop. By going West out of Slocan City, you can roll past Little Slocan Lake then back out to the highway.

If you STILL have time, or just came down Lemon Creek and want to take the interesting way back to Nelson we have you covered! The fun shortcut (that takes longer) is to go up Pedro FSR and down through the Smallwood area down to the highway.

Whew!!!

So, the epic version would be up Six Mile, around and down on Springer, the big loop past Little Slocan Lake, and finally home over Pedro! You know you wanna…
