Kootenay Cider Works

Farm-crafted cider the traditional way.

A small, mountainside cidery located in Nelson BC. It’s a boutique cider house, if you will, making cider crafted from apples grown in the Nelson area, as well as from a small orchard in Kelowna. The founder and cidermaker, Chris Schmidt, started Tod Creek Craft Cider in Victoria, then handed those reins over in 2020 to be able to focus on starting Kootenay Cider Works.

The facility is almost done… construction has been fun but a slow two year process. And with 2.5 acres of apple trees planted to expand the orchard-in-mountains, the cidery will keep growing.

Ways to Support Craig

A good day on the trail turns into a long night of work. Cards to back up, footage to cut, uploads crawling over whatever signal a small town can spare. Behind that sit the subscriptions, the drives, the fuel and a lot of gas station coffee.

It all runs on donations now. If any of this has saved you a wrong turn or got you out the door, you decide what that was worth. Not everyone can chip in, and that's fine. If you can, it goes straight back into the road.
