Cedar A-frame chalet cabin with a front deck and picnic table at Kokanee Chalets

Kokanee Chalets

50 years ago a small oil company from Texas had a dream to develop this beautiful area. Although many plans existed, the result was Kokanee Springs Golf Course and their accommodator Kokanee Chalets.  Through the years Kokanee Chalets has become a favorite family campground and hotel. Nestled in its signature grove of timeless cedar trees near Kootenay Lake, the resort provides decompression from the city rat race.

The 20 acres of Kokanee Chalets Resort is divided between the Chalets area and the campground area.   While not located directly on the beachfront, the resort is a ten-minute walk down a forested / wetland path to the beach.  We have 16 cabins, 9 guest rooms, 53 RV sites and 17 tenting sites. The middle of the campground houses a playground for children as well as the bathroom and shower facility.

Ways to Support Craig

A good day on the trail turns into a long night of work. Cards to back up, footage to cut, uploads crawling over whatever signal a small town can spare. Behind that sit the subscriptions, the drives, the fuel and a lot of gas station coffee.

It all runs on donations now. If any of this has saved you a wrong turn or got you out the door, you decide what that was worth. Not everyone can chip in, and that's fine. If you can, it goes straight back into the road.
