Farnham Glacier

Just West of Radium is the hidden gem that is the Farnham Glacier. Easily accessed most of the way by FSR, the last little bit gets a little spicy! There is a creek crossing that although isn’t extreme, it’s not one to be taken lightly. Far enough in the backcountry any group of riders need to have a serious look at before attempting.

So, here’s how the map works. The route is broken up into smaller tracks based on the type of riding surface. Colour-coded for your convenience! Green is paved, Blue is unpaved, and red is unpaved but either more technical or has something on it that may be trickier for some rider/bike combinations. I’m never going to make assumptions about your skill level or enthusiasm, you know you. Always ride to what you’re comfortable with.

There are waypoints for Camping, fuel, beer, motels, motorcycle shops, food, and cool places to see.

You can add everything in Gaia to you own (free) account, or download it straight away and add it to any app or Garmin unit.

The route is easily done in half a day, once the FSR is snow-free. But watch the levels on the water crossing which naturally fluctuate with run-off. But even if you don’t do the crossing, you get more than close enough to partake of the spectacular views!

Wow what a great website. I just found it when I googled Gray Creek Pass. I will definitely do Farnham Glacier, looks so great on the pictures.
